Tropical cyclone Nargis has brought incalculable disaster in Burma killing around 15,000, and counting. The military junta has issued a rare appeal for international emergency assistance. The perfect storm signals a political upheaval with perils of situation going completely out of control, as apparently, the junta is not in a position to handle the disaster. However, the ruling regime is still planning to hold a nationwide referendum on a new constitution on 10 May.

the damage is catastrophic and will take long time to make things ok again. so is the Myanmar political milieu. the political misappropriations has destroyed the nation for a long long time. How the storm, i wonder, will not prove devastating but a boon for the Burmese nationals. things are not that easy, and the military junta has always given a plucked hen to any proposal whatsoever to relinquish its military wand. storm will change the political fortunes is something I have reservations for.

if ifs an ans are pots and pans there would be no tinkers. I mean this is ridiculous!! Why giving help when the Burma regime didn't ask for any. can you ppl let Burma breath in this difficult situation. if Burmese will accept the aid, the world will get an opportunity to intrude in Burma as they did in Iraq or Afghanistan for that matter. thought i do not support the military regime but let me remind you ppl Burma has only accepted the external aid so there still remains Big "IF" . Don't take the boost of natural disaster to intrude into, you cowards!!! where you were before this natural disaster???

Burma desperately needs help and not helping it is nothing different than the cruel regime in power. playing politics at this moment of time will be a bad move. this can devoid the suffering ppl off the aid that they need at this crucial hour, after all it's ppl who will pay for everything, natural or political bad weather, not the military govt.

yes this is the right time to make military junta succumb coz govt. is no position to deal with the disaster and they need help. Food, clean water, medical supplies... are among the essential prerequisites and this will bring the govt. under the international pressure. since the international sanctions have already made the govt fragile, now this disaster will be the final dent to the regime. I hope for the change in environment - political and natural.

Nargis will certainly bring good fortunes for the burmese. however, as far a the question whether military junta will kneel is too priory an assessment. Army is strong and ranks third in asia when it comes to numbers. the govt. can accept the internal aid even but that nowhere means it'll be a total change in govt. in Burma. But yeah! there is hope for the things to be better [and hope for change in political mind set]if not as worse as it had been.

In the presence of Almighty God is now felt by the Junta regime in the backdrop of cyclone Nargis, which has unfortunately killed some many Burmese people. Recently, the regime has massacred many innocent monks and civilians in the streets of Burma challenging the global mandate against Human Rights. It is the perfect time to teach this mindless regime by the globe, what humanity is? The cyclone would definitely bring the Junta to its knees since it would approach the world, for help.

world should help burma without any political maneuvering. help should come first and politics later. this is certainly not the time to look for the political gains. at this difficult time, to raise the question whether it will make govt. kneel is not sane because we are not helping the military govt but the people and they've done nothing wrong, have played no politics nor suppressed anyone.
