Is terrorism succeeding in curtailing India's rise?

Eight serial blasts rocked Jaipur for the first time last night killing 60 and injuring 200 innocent people. India is under grip of conflicts in Jammu and Kashmir, northeastern states and attacks by Naxalites and Maoists in eastern and central India. The terror trail is fast moving to other peaceful parts too putting a question mark on rising homegrown terrorism and India’s efforts to counter it. Nationwide strikes took 2,300 lives this year alone, apparently, hampering India’s growth and rise as a superpower.

These bombings have all the trademarks of cross border terrorism. but i would like to suggest the radical Islamists that they can not bring down the wall by repeated knocking against it. it will only make your ass bleed.
Violence against the innocent only leads to vengeance and violence against themselves. Slowly but surely Muslim extremism will be abandoned. Ameen!!!

this is pathetic, horrible... I don't know what these so called Jihadis want to prove with this. are they worth calling humans. but all these maneuvering will not budge us from our path. this is sheer political apathy to deal with the crises or else why any stern action has not yet been taken by our leaders to teach these radicals a lesson. If the official apathy will remain the same things are going to be worse in the coming days. we need the action against terror in India. It's time for the indian politicians to rise from the slumber.

yes these are scars on the rising india. Maharashtra bombings, attack on indian parliament...and so on. these incidents are innumerable in number. this is really engulfing our growth. India can never boast to be a developed nation until it is free from terrorism. internal conflict have marred the growth and these need to solve these issues as soon as possible.

Terrorists may be creating problems and decelerating our growth to some extent but the spirit of India is mighty and any terrorist attack cannot succeed in stopping her rise. We are a bold lot and in front of our determination and will power it will be difficult for any amount of terrorism to stand for a long time. We have the will to succeed and where there is a will there will always be a way. We just need to keep up our spirits in the worst of situations and march forward.

Though we have witnessed a rise in terrorist activities at a constant pace in our country, it is total stupidity to say that terrorism will ever succeed in hampering India’s global progress. No doubt, with each terrorist attack the country is bound to experience a jolt and stand still for a short while but that never means India will stop its march or take a backward step.
However, even the little amount of harm that these terrorists are able to inflict upon us is not because the terrorists are too strong but because our administration and system is weak, and the credit goes to the corrupt and self-centered politicians.
Remember that Kandahar plane hijack incident? It was the failure of this same administration which had no option but to free Maulana Masood Azhar and other terrorists to save the lives of 132 innocent people. If only the administration was strong and capable enough to carve out a different way to save those hostages, we would not have witnessed the future dreadful deeds of Masood Azhar.
And the recent case of Afzal Guru also tells the same story. I mean, if a condemned terrorist prisoner like Afzal Guru can generate a debate on whether he should be hanged or not, then it is definitely the failure of the administration.
Fortunately, the other sectors of India are not as corrupt or incapable as the politicians or the administration personnels.

No way! India is too big a country to be brought to its knees by a handful of mad bombers.
There has been widespread criticism that India is too soft on terrorism. Agreed. India has always tended to be peaceful. Its violent instincts only come to the fore when it is pushed against the wall.
We are not like China, which throws its weight around the world. Perhaps the years of exploitation by western powers has made it bitter and it has a point to make.
India too has suffered colonialism. But Hinduism has given it an immense capacity to absorb shocks and sufferings.
India is not out to make a point. Its people are just getting the chance to fulfil their full potential. They believe in ’Karma’.
When it is attacked (for instance the terrorist bombings) it fights. It draws inspiration from the Bhagwad Gita. ”Vanquish your foes, even if they live in your house and are your own. Duty is all-important.”

India’s growth will steamroll on, but here and there we will have a few concerns as long as these morons keep blowing things and people up. But, as long as the Indian government and the intelligence agencies keep their efforts to tackle terrorism up, India’s rapid growth will continue.

Quoting the 911 incident as an example, I believe terrorism does have wide-ranging effects on economic growth. Investor influx gets affected due to safety concerns. If Shane Warne and his brethren can consider quitting a lucrative IP League, brands investing in India will certainly have second thoughts. Additionally, the company has to allot resources for counter-terrorism operations when the same can be used for development. I totally agree that the country has the will to ’steamroll on’, but it comes at a huge cost. The effects can sometimes be long-lasting.

The prime Minister has mooted setting up of a federal crime agency. This would be a good positive step.
A federal specialized anti-terror unit is what the doctor would order. The terrorists will be on the run soon.
The lack of co-ordination between different state governments is a big drawback in the fight against terror.

No they are not and they can not though these terrorist groups definitely are aiming at this. but they will not succeed.
however above this all economy we need to understand why this blood shed for nothing. these terrorist groups have no reason to kill people and its even more disheartening to know that these people were once our brothers and sisters. Nobody cares for who you kill and nobody's afraid either.
I've noticed a recent trend that people are becoming somewhat blithe to the terrorist attacks. there's no panic anymore and nobody's concerned. i think you've lost it!
