We have been receiving many emails from our Freelancers with respect to the problem they are facing due to duplicate story issue. Many a time we find more than one writer working simultaneously on a single news-lead, which lead to waste of effort by everyone, since only one story gets accepted and others have to be rejected.
To solve the problem, we have implemented a new system in our newsroom for everyone’s benefit.
1. Only one person at a time can work on a single news-lead.
2. A fix time of 3 hours is allotted for every news-lead to be finished.
3. One person at a time can assign a single news-lead to himself.
You need to assign a news-lead to yourself before you start working on news-leads. You can do it by going to Newsroom and clicking ‘Assign to yourself’ link below any ‘open’ news-lead.
Note:
1. You can ‘unassign’ the news-lead anytime by clicking the ‘Unassign’ link below the assigned News-lead in the 3-hours period.
2. If you fail to complete the story (or unassign the story) in the allotted time (3 hours), a warning/flag will be issued to your account.
3. 5 flags/warnings in a given month will disbar you assigning any news-lead for that month.
4. All warnings/flags are cleared at the end of the each month.
5. We recommend you to use Instablogs Newsroom extensively, which is updated regularly and hence would help you a lot in finding latest news-leads.

i usually work on stories not submitted in the newsroom. i have 4 solid hrs free early morning. by what time can i expect the news lead i submit to be accepted, so i can assign it to myself, and start on that story?
Or can i complete the story and mail you saying ’plz close xxx newslead’ ?
I think we can exclude non-newsroom stories from this new system
You can view this as a feature to assist our writers. Newsroom is filled with news-leads provided by our editors, writers and readers. I think we are the only news-organization to have such a transparent and interactive News Room.
In that case can’t I post on these issues on network?

However, we’d recommend you to go through the proper channel, i.e. via the newsroom - by submitting news-lead (or any other link) related to your research and then assign and submit.
m new here, could someone please help me out with, what kind of blogs go well here, i mean am i suposed to write what ever i wish to ?? !!!!!!!

I dont say ’m an expert, but yet, i think certain changes are required to make Instablog Community more reachable through search engines and also from User Perspectives.. (the organization of links ... this may b ,i think, the major issue most wud b facing here.... ’m i right guys ???? )
