I was a die hard IE fan and just as Firefox was becoming a rage came IE 7 that seemed to put to rest all competitions. How wrong I was. The best example is that I cannot even imagine to have a browser other than Firefox. It is simply too good. My PC is affected less by malicious programs.

Firefox definitely is more pirate friendly as most of the personal Windows users in Asia use pirated versions of Windows XP. Since there is no scope to run the IE 7 on pirated PCs Firefox has become so popular.

Why Windows and other Microsoft products have become so popular. Because they did not do enough to stop piracy. May be it was just a ploy to get users hooked to Windows. Now Microsoft thinks that time's up for pirates and it's time to make some money. So Internet Explorer has taken a back seat. I agree with the commenter above. It's because what you can run best on pirated Windows.

Firefox is the best browser available today. It is fast, free and secure. It is now the most popular browser in many countries and the geeks love it very much. It is just a matter of time now that the Internet Explorer will lose its number one position.

Firefox is good for all practical purposes. It is fast and secure. If it crashes you can still recover some data like the web pages you were in or whatever you typed in a text box. The only problem with Firefox is that it hogs a lot of RAM. slows down the machine considerably and not recommended for multi-taskers.

Firefox is a great revolution actually. It epitomizes the power of open source. This is a great browser to browse it and security loopholes are immediately fixed. Doesn't have to go through the kind of technocratic red-tape for developing patches.

One has always known this, as in friends have always recommended Fire-fox now the study validates this even futher!

I agree because being open source loopholes are patched almost immediately whenever detected and the browser is updated. Internet Explorer 7.0 is also a very secure browser. But if there is a vulnerability then before the patch comes out, the damage is already done.
