Canadian short story writer Alice Munro has won the £60,000 Man Booker International Prize. The 77-year-old became the third author to win the biennial prize, the international version of Britain’s top literary award, the Man Booker Prize.

It's great to hear that Alice Munro is getting some international attention. She is a wonderfully insightful and thoughtful writer.

Her short story collections are wonderfully written and layered with so much symbolism. I'd say she's one of Canada's greatest writer along with Robertson Davies and Alistair McLeod.

I don't think it's easy to place anyone as Canada's "greatest" writer, especially with folks such as Steven Erikson out there writing epics such as the Malazan series.
