I totally understand. My two dogs, a female beagle and a male bichon frise, are my furry little babies. I also have two ”non-furry” children that seem to accepted them as family as well. They don’t get birthday parties, but do get special treats or toys on their special day. They are spoiled rotten, of course. During my recent separation/divorce I also made a point of making sure they came with me and the kids. I am a firm believer that having dogs has played a big part in keeping me connected to my sanity.
